I'd go with Jimmy or James, personally. I'm accustomed to Jimmy, but I could see James as a more formal variant. Jim doesn't seem to take care of the problems Jimmy has as well as James does, but maybe I just like James better.
I get kind of picky about people's names. I'm willing to change what I call someone once or twice (useful when your friends come out as transgendered and decide to change their name and pronouns), or to accept that a person is known by two names (say, a really common name which a lot of other people have which their parents call them by, and an internet handle which they've adopted into regular life because it's less confusing,) but start asking me to change too many times and I get grumpy. "I just got used to calling you SnarkyFuddlePoo!"
I don't plan on getting grumpy at people who keep calling me Jimmy. My name isn't enormously important to me... but that just seems to be more reason to make sure it connotes what I want.
I think of you as Myndroh, but I think that's cause it's what I met you as. Jimmy works ok, but I think that Jim doesn't work at all and James is good. Though it then makes me start sings "James" by the Nields ("James, James, James. Isn't it a shame. How could someone so crazy go so insane, everbody loves James.").
I think I must have been about 12 or 13 years old when I suddenly developed an intense dislike for being called Jessie, and switched to Jessica. So I can totally understand the desire to shift away from a "childish" diminutive nickname. That said, I've become very accustomed to Jimmy, and I think it does suit you well. If you do decide to go for a change, I agree with others that James could work, given time to adjust. But not Jim. I can't define why, but it just doesn't feel right.
I have always personally detested the name Jimmy. People have tried calling me Jimmy or Jim all of my life, many of them being professional medical types, and I have fought against this as long as I can remember. HOWEVER you have ALWAYS been Jimmy. I do not know you so much anymore, but the name I think fits you better than any other. Besides, what would your mother say? ;D
